Doris M. Shrimplin

May 5, 1920 — February 27, 2009

Warsaw- Doris Maxine Shrimplin, 88, formerly of Warsaw and a resident of Lafayette Pointe Nursing Home, went to be with her Lord on Feb. 27, 2009.

She was born May 5, 1920 in Monroe Twp., Coshocton Co., to Walter C. and Alta M. (Williamson) Staser and was reared on a farm near Blissfield. On Aug. 29, 1938 she married Clarence L. Shrimplin, Jr., whom preceded her in death on March 12, 1974. She was a 1938 graduate of Warsaw High School, was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a graduate of the Tri-County School of Practical Nursing. During her life she was a homemaker, and worked for a brief time at the Towne-Sander Rubber Co. in Warsaw. She was a member of the Warsaw First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, a former member of the Warsaw Twentieth Century Club, Warsaw Homemaker's Club, and the Warsaw Order of the Eastern Star. She also served as a member of the Warsaw Emergency Squad.

She enjoyed being a farm wife, spending time with her family, attending sporting events of her grandchildren, gardening, and her farm animals (especially her milk cows). She also enjoyed serving others as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

She is survived by her children; Lydia Sue (Jack) Jago and N. Kristine Shrimplin of Amesville, Joan (Jim) Lawrence, Tim (Cathi) Shrimplin, Dan (Kelly) Shrimplin, and Walter (Suzanne) Shrimplin all of Warsaw, a sister, Janice (David) Ulry of Upper Arlington, a brother, John D. Staser of Warsaw, a sister-in-law, Eloise D. Shrimplin of Warsaw, eleven grandchildren; Kathy (Bob) Bigrigg of Keene, Kristy (Jim) Retton of Zanesville, Rich (Amy) Lawrence of New Castle, Gary (Jacy) Lawrence of Howard, Tiffany (Jon) Bafford of Newark, Tony (Megan) Shrimplin of Coshocton, Cal (Renee) Shrimplin of Warsaw, Stacey (Tad) Kaser of Warsaw, Dan Shrimplin of Warsaw, Darcy (Spencer) Finley of New Lexington, and Molly Shrimplin of Coshocton, a step-grandchild, Jessica Jago of Logan, seventeen great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Edgar Staser, a sister and brother-in-law, Lila Mae and Merlin Garver, a brother-in-law, Don F. Shrimplin, sister-in-law, Joann Staser, as well as two infant brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2009 at the Warsaw First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tim Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 1st at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, and also one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday.
