Danville – Doris A. Snively, 75, passed away on Wednesday August 3, 2016 at the Country Club Nursing Facility in Mount Vernon.

She was born to Lewis and Leona (Weaver) McMillan on April 13, 1941 in Mount Vernon. She married Larry Snively June 26, 1960.

Doris worked as a teacher’s aide at New Hope schools for 14 years, and also assisted with activities with several nursing homes. She was a song leader and pianist at North Bend Church of the Brethren. She loved and cared greatly for her grandchildren and her entire family. Although she was born a city girl, she fell in love with the farm and it became her pride and joy.

Surviving is her husband Larry, two sons; Jeff (Linda) Snively of New Lenox, IL, and Jason (Marci) Snively of Hillsboro, four grandchildren; Kari (Charles) Wilson of Chicago, IL, Kaytlin (Ben) Snively of Seattle, WA, and Sophie and Ava Snively of Hillsboro, two great grandchildren; Kacie and Colton Wilson, a sister-in-law; Vivian McMillan, a bother-in-law, Preston McCullem, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Virginia Claypool, and Iris McCullum, and brothers; Paul, Bob, and Glen McMillan.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 6, at the North Bend Church, 24458 Orange Hill Rd. Danville, 43014. Pastor Patrick Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery on SR 3. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 Friday evening at the Fischer Funeral Home, 403 High St, Danville.

Memorial donations are suggested to the church, or Kindred at Home Hospice, 112 Harcourt Road, Suite 3 Mount Vernon, 43050. If anyone wishes to send flowers, the family suggests perennials so that the grandchildren can plant them on the family farm as a memorial. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
