Howard - Dorothy Maxine (Clark) Elliott, 77, of Winesap Dr., passed away quietly Thursday September 23, 2010 at the Whispering Hills Care Center in Mount Vernon following a more than 20 year battle with Parkinson 's disease.

"Gabby" was born November 29, 1932 in Killbuck to Isaac "Luther" and Madge (Kline) Clark. She graduated from Howard High School. On October 16, 1954 she married James C. Elliott, who passed away October 21, 2000.They made their home for many years in Danville, where they were members of the Danville Church of Christ. She worked for many years at Lakeview Haven Nursing Home, then at the Ohio Eastern Star Home, and Rice-Chadwick until she became too debilitated to work anymore. She loved camping, traveling, and playing Skip-Bo.

She was stubborn and tough, and managed to stay at home and even do her mowing with her little John Deere tractor until about two years ago when the falls became too frequent. Gabby was blessed to spend her final two years at Whispering Hills, where she was treated like family, and under the services of Heartland Hospice - the absolute best!

Dorothy is survived by her children; Elaine (Eric) Siekkinen of Danville, Gary (Crystal) Elliott of Mount Vernon, Larry (Merry Shaffer) of Killbuck, and Diane (Marty) Colopy of Howard, 8 grandchildren; Nathan Hall of Thornville, Whitney Siekkinen of Columbus, Kelsey Siekkinen of Seattle, WA, Christina (Josh) Burdulis of Mount Vernon, Gary (Megan Durbin) of Mount Vernon, Erica Colopy of Howard, Lindsey (Vinton Bailey) of Howard,and Nicholas (Andrea) Colopy of Fredericktown, 9 great grandchildren, sisters; Mabel Townsend of Waterford, Luella Bertsch and Mary Elliott of Smithville, and June Morris of Danville.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers; Virgil "Bud" and Robert "Bunny" Clark, and four brothers-in-law.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Monday September 27, 2010, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Chaplain Ellen Clodfelter will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be from 6-8 Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
