Dorothy Evelyn Shaw

Coshocton - Dorothy E. Shaw, 92, went to be with Jesus, surrounded by her loving family, on November 30, 2011 at Autumn Health Care of Coshocton.

Dorothy was born February 13, 1919 to the late Sylvester and Clestia Coral (Carter) Parks. She graduated from West Lafayette High School in 1935. Dorothy was the oldest living member of the Burt Ave. Wesleyan Church, where she was a greeter for many years. She especially enjoyed being a part of her Sunday School class. She was a wonderful cook, baker, and seamstress. She was also a longtime, loyal employee of the General Electric Company.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dale Shaw, 2 daughters; Sandra (Jim) Sycks of Coshocton, and Jonalee (Ralph) McSwain of Cincinnati, grandchildren; Lisa (Mark) Clark, Beth (Tony) West, and Craig Miller all of Coshocton, and Amy (Brian) Slone of Troy, 12 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, sisters; Winifred (Russell) Eckelberry, and Margaret Art, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Frank (Helen) Parks, and Leonard (Peggy) Parks, and sisters; Myrtle Guilliams, Nellie Pargman, Ruth Markley, and Betty Hains.

The family would like to thank Dr. Gary Carver, the staff at Autumn Health Care, CCMH Palliative Care, and Hospice for their compassionate care.

A celebration of life service will be held at noon on Saturday December 3, 2011 at the Burt Ave. Wesleyan Church in Coshocton. The Rev. Rod Uhlig will officiate. The family will greet friends at the church from 11:00 to noon. A private burial of her cremated remains will be at Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw.
