Dortha Helms

Brinkhaven – Dortha L. (Logston) Helms passed away at home on December 24, 2025 at the age of 90.

She was born in Howard Township in Knox County on April 20, 1936 to the late David and Rosetta (Howard) Logston. In addition to her parents, Dortha was also preceded in death by her husband, Darrell; a granddaughter; a brother; and four sisters.

Surviving are her children Terry (Connie) Helms, Laura White, Roger (Debbie) Helms, Kevin (Tammy) Helms, and Stanley Helms; 14 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 Monday, December 29, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Andrew Wolff will officiate. Burial will follow in Tiverton Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service time.
