Mount Vernon - Edna M. Griffith, 86, formerly of Danville, died Friday August 3, 2012 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.
She was born October 24, 1925 to Clarence and Myrtle Farley. On October 4, 1946 she was married to John R. Griffith.
Edna was a member of the Eastern Star for many years, and worked as an aid at the Ohio Eastern Star Home, as well as the former Morning View Care Center. She enjoyed spending her time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, John, two sons, Charles R. and William R. Griffith, and a daughter, Edna Jean Frazee.
She is survived by her daughter, Loretta (Jim) Gulick of Walhonding, sons, John H. (Billie) of Texas, Clarence A. (Doris) of Howard, James H. (Connie) of Howard, and Carl J. (Carmen) Griffith of Idaho, sisters, Betty Jacks of Newark, and Jerri McKinney of Lancaster, 21 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday August 6 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Ben McKinstry will officiate. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg. Calling will be one hour prior to the service.
