Mount Vernon - Elden E. Maurer, 86, passed away Wednesday January 26, 2011 at Heartland of Ceneterburg.
He was born August 7, 1924 in Baltic to Elmer and Vera (Close) Maurer. He was retired from Paebody Broken Arrow Coal Mine. He attended the Watterford Church of Christ, and was a member of the Dan Emmitt Grange, and the Coshocton County Farm Bureau.
Elden is survived by his children; Shirley (Roy) Atherton of Butler, James R. (Cindy) Maurer of Centerburg, and Judy (Brian) Edwards of Johnstown, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Pearl (Smith) Maurer on February 11, 1992, his son; Edward Maurer, a brother; Thomas Maurer, and a sister; Alberta Moran.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 28, 2011 at Coshocton County Memory Gardens on SR 621. Darryn Dawes will officiate.
