Eldon E. Workman

Danville - Eldon Elsworth Workman, 93, of 24431 Danville - Amity Rd., died Sunday July 27, 2008 at home.

He was born March 24, 1915 in Brown Twp., Knox County, to the late Elmer E. and Rosa (Kemp) Workman. He was a lifetime resident off the Danville community. He spent the majority of his working years engaged in the occupation of farming, turkey raising, and industry related phases of that particular aspect of agriculture. He spent the last few years before retirement in the maintenance department of Kenyon College.

Mr. Workman was a lifetime member of the North Bend Church of the Brethren. He also was faithful in attendance at the First Baptist Church late in his life.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years; Helen Irene (McMahon) Workman, one daughter; Sheila (Glenn) Nyhart, and two sons; Marvin (Sandie) Workman and Norman (Phyllis) Workman. He is also survived by one brother; Ira B. Workman, six grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, plus several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 7 siblings in addition to his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday July 30, 2008 at the Fischer funeral Home in Danville. Pastor Bob Hendrix and James Lifer will officiate. A private burial will be in North Bend Cemetery. Calling will be one hour before service time on Wednesday.
