Howard - Eleanor F. (Fejes) Remen, 74, of Apple Valley, died Tuesday November 30, 2010 at her residence.
She was born May 15, 1936 in Cleveland to Alexander A. and Marie (Kalnasy) Fejes. She graduated in 1955 from Mantua-Shalensville High School in Mantua. On June 29, 1957, she married Robert F. Remen. She was a member of, and involved with the Apple Valley Property Owners, Apple Core, Apple Valley Finance, Apple Valley Singers, the St. Luke Church Choir, That Place on Market, Eye Deal Friends, and the Red Hat Society. Eleanor was a devoted wife, mother, and beloved grandmother. She was also a wonderful friend to nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years; Robert, her children; Victoria (Rich) Rivera of Chandler, AZ, and Frank (Tierany) Remen of Howard, grandchildren; Olivia and Lucas, step-grandchildren; Myles and Breanna Rossman, and sisters; Marie (Vince) Luce of Mantua, Cynthia (Ron) Gill of Garrettsville, and Suzann Lorentz of Rootstown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law; O'tillia and Prokop Remen, a sister-in-law; Dorothy Remen, and a brother-in-law; Gary Lorentz.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday December 4, 2010 at the St. Luke Catholic Church in Danville. The Rev. F. Richard Snoke will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with a Wake service at 7:00 P.M. Visitation is also thirty minutes before the service at the church on Saturday morning.
The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of Hospice of Knox County and to Father Snoke for their care of Eleanor. In lieu of flowers, they have requested donations to Hospice of Knox County; 17700 Coshocton Rd., Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
