NEWARK- Evelyn Maxine Davis, age 93, of Newark, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
She was born July 13, 1922 in Walhonding to the late Franklin and Gladys (Williard) Fry. Mrs. Davis was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ since 1953. She was a member of the Afternoon Guild, the Madison Grange and Phythian Sisters. Evelyn enjoyed travelling. She visited forty eight of the United States as well as many Provinces in Canada.
She is survived by her sons; Max Allen Davis of Newark, Richard Eugene (Debbie) Davis of Norwood, Franklin (Vicky) Davis of Newark, and J. Michael (Julie) Davis of Newark, grandchildren; Brian(Carisa) Davis of Galena, Bradley (Sarah) Davis of Johnstown, Philip Davis (Tricia Byrne) of Columbus, Ryan Davis (Trisha Wilson) of Newark, Amanda (Joe) Pflanz of Loveland, Melissa (Kevin) O’Conner of Norwood, and Joshua Lederer of Cincinnati, a sister in-law, Wilma Clapper of Florida, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8th, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 45055. Family will also receive friends in Mrs. Davis’ home county on Friday, Oct. 9th, from 6-8 p.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home, 412 E. Main Street, Warsaw, OH 43844. Funeral services will be held at the Fischer Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 10th at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to service time.
