NEWCOMERSTOWN- Garnet Marie Beal, 94, a resident of Riverside Manor Nursing & Rehab, died Saturday Sept. 29, 2012 at the care center.
She was born Nov. 20, 1917 in Coshocton Co. to the late Sanford E. and Irene (Mullet) Lowe. She was a graduate of Blissfield High School and a member of the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette. She was known for her love of sewing and music.
She is survived by her husband, L. Merrill Beal of Newcomerstown, whom she married Dec. 17, 1959, two daughters; Janet (Charles) Straits of Millersburg, and Karen (David) Foreman of West Lafayette, a step-daughter, Carol Beal of Columbus, a step-son, Charles Beal of Fresno, six grandsons; David (Shary) Straits, Mark (Sue) Straits, Paul (Diana) Straits, Phil (Joyce) Straits, Doug Straits, and Beau Foreman, two granddaughters; Lisa (Rich) Patterson, and Amy Foreman, seventeen great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Maxine (John) Conkle of Millersburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Seidner, her second husband, Clyde Fortune, a grandson, Joseph Foreman, and three brothers; Russell, Owen, and Harley (infant) Lowe.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 3, 2012 at the FISCHER FUNERAL HOME in Warsaw with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Blissfield Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
