Loudonville - Garnet Evelyn Brown, 91, died Wednesday August 3, 2011 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home.
She was born July 1, 1920 in Coshocton to the late Warren and Zella Belle (Styers) Horton. On February 19, 1946, she married Calvin Brown, who preceded her in death on December 25, 1993. She was a member of the Newark Rd. Church of Christ in Mount Vernon, and was retired from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. She enjoyed her grandchildren very much and they were a big part of her life.
Garnet is survived by her son; Robert L. (Teresa) Brown of Danville, her grandchildren; Jereme (Renee) Brown of Mt. Vernon, and Danielle Brown of Danville, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers; James Martin Horton, and Charles Warren Horton, and sisters; Opal Irene Mizer, and Thelma Pearl Skivers.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday August 6, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Andrew Jooste will officiate. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville. Calling hours will be from 6-8 on Friday.
