Mount Vernon - Richard Gary Korns, 63, died Sunday May 29, 2016 at the Knox Community Hospital.
He was born April 23, 1953 in Mount Vernon to the late Clifford and Rose (Spencer) Korns. He was a 1971 graduate of Mount Vernon High School, and was employed at Central Ohio Fabricators. Gary enjoyed gardening and loved cooking for his family, playing with his grandchildren, and attending their sporting events.
He is survived by his son, Tim Korns of Mount Vernon, his daughter, Sarah (Brian) Payne of Howard, 4 grandchildren; Spencer, Wesley, Isabelle, and Huston, and one more grandson on the way, his sister, Janet Korns of Gambier, and his brother, Donald Korns of Mount Vernon.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 1 at the Danville United Methodist Church. Rev. Bob Alexander will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
