Coshocton- Genevieve Betty Barnett. 83, died Saturday March 27, 2010 at the Autumn Health Care Center, where she was a resident.
She was born Sept. 10, 1926 to the late David and Ella (Bennett) Helmick. She married James Essle Barnett on Feb. 26, 1942, who preceded her in death on April 5, 1991. She loved cooking and collecting cookbooks, and always did for others before herself.
She is survived by three sons; Charles Mick Barnett, Elmer Lee (Cheryl) Barnett, and Jack Essle (Sharon) Barnett all of Coshocton, two daughters; Betty (Jack) Ziak of Cuyahoga Falls, and Judy (Matt) Castro of Annandale, NJ, two brothers; Jim (Diane) Helmick of Coshocton, and Hoy Helmick of New York, eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, David Helmick and Ella (Bennett) Lang, and her husband, James Essle Barnett, she is preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. Burial will follow in New Castle Cemetery. Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, and until service time on Tuesday.
