George B. Devore, Sr.

Howard – George B. DeVore, Sr., 85, passed away at the Knox Community Hospital on August 17, 2022.

He was born February 22, 1937 to the late Cloyd and Hazel (Zollars) DeVore. George married Shirley Jean Tomes on June 27, 1959, who preceded him in death on May 4, 2005. George was also preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Wolford. He attended the Centerburg Church of God.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Yvonne (Raymond) Lepley of Howard, Georgia Hagans of Danville, and Gwen (Ron) Anders of Danville; a son, George (Tabitha) Devore Jr. of Florida; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Walter (Sharon) DeVore of West Virginia; a sister, Sandra (John) Hall of Big Prairie; and his nieces and nephews.

At George’s request, a private interment and a small family gathering will take place, and memorial donations are suggested to the Centerburg Church of God, 4697 Columbus Rd. Centerburg, OH 43011. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
