George W. Gamertsfelder

June 2, 1926 — March 18, 2009

Warsaw - George W. Gamertsfelder, 82, died Wednesday March 18, 2009 at the Coshocton Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born June 2, 1926 in Coshocton County to Perry W. and Bernice (Fox) Gamertsfelder. On June 29, 1947 he married Janice N. Casey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, was a lifetime farmer, and drove school bus for River View Schools for over 35 years. He was a member of the Clark Twp. Baptist Church, the Keene Hill Grange, and the Coshocton County Farm Bureau. He was also a former Clark Twp. trustee, a former 4 H advisor, and served on the Coshocton County Water and Soil and Fair Boards.

He is survived by a daughter; Kathy (Kevin) Jones of Coshocton, sons; Steve (Dawn) Gamertsfelder of Millersburg, and Ken (Kim) Gamertsfelder of Coshocton, grandchildren; Derek Gamertsfelder, Erin Machemer, Ryan and Karly Jones, Staci Grace, and Chad Cox, and brothers; Dale of Florida, and Gordon Gamertsfelder of Warsaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janice, on March 27, 2008, and a sister Mary Ashcraft.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday March 23, 2009 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Pastor Randy Gardiner will officiate. Burial, with military rites from the Coshocton County Veterans Council, will be in Blissfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-8 on Sunday.
