WARSAW- George Doaty Myers, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 31, 2025 at his residence.
He was born March 25, 1949 in Coshocton to the late Earl J.H. and Mary (Rohskopf) Myers. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971, and later received an Associate’s Degree in Agriculture from Clark St. College in Springfield.
George worked as a custodian at Warsaw Elementary School for 37 years, until his retirement in 2017. He also farmed for most of his life.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Valerie A. (Hahn) Myers of Warsaw, whom he married May 5, 1976; their two children, Janelle (Peter) Myers Urda of Lewis Center, and Devon Myers of Warsaw; grandchildren, Andrew George Urda, Evan Charles Urda, and Samuel John Urda; two sisters, Jeannett Wells, and June (David) Lingenfelter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rosalie Grace Urda; sisters, Paulene (Dean) Croft, Evelyn (William) Mullet, and Helen (Robert) Taylor; an infant brother, Ward Allen Myers; and a brother-in-law, Jerold Wells.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Ken Smailes officiating. A live stream is available for those unable to attend. Burial will follow in Blissfield Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard.
