WARSAW- Glenn Emanuel Adams, 94, of SR 60 N, died Thursday Feb. 7, 2013 at his residence.
He was born March 17, 1918 in Coshocton to the late Glen A. and Jocie Gayle (Wright) Adams. He was a 1936 graduate of Roscoe High School. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy during tours in Asia, Europe, and Africa. After returning from the Navy, he worked on construction projects around Ohio, including Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital, the Conesville power plant, and River View High School. He served on the Boards of Education for Roscoe, Three Rivers, and River View Schools Districts. He was the manager of Riverside Towers in Coshocton, and before his retirement he served as maintenance supervisor for five buildings in the River View School District. He was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church, a life-member of the V.F.W., having served as Commander. He was also a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and a 50+ year member of the Coshocton Freemasons.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Margaret (Pope) Adams of Warsaw, whom he married Sept. 27, 1940. Also surviving is a son, Michael (Ana) Adams of Roscoe, three grandchildren; Marko (Mary Kay) Herrera of Elgin, SC, Alexis (Tom) Larson of Denver, CO, and Jay-michael (Abigail) Adams of Gahanna, three great-grandchildren; Alexandra & Maggie Herrera, and Jakob Larson, a sister, Grace (Adams) Grey of Williamsport, PA, a brother-in-law, Don (Joyce) Pope of Coshocton, three sisters-in-law, Gladys Ogle, Bonnie Pope, and Joyce Guthrie, all of Coshocton, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Larry Adams, and three brothers-in-law; Gene Pope, Bob Ogle, and Gene Guthrie.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Rev. Steve Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council.
