Danville – Glenn Conard Nyhart died April 20, 2026 at his residence. Jesus called him from his love’s arms.

He was born at home in Danville on December 18, 1936 to the late Glenn William and Florence (Sentel) Nyhart. He was the third of three children, which includes his sisters, Carolyn Metcalf and Helen Kaylor, who survive him.

He married Sheila Workman on May 17, 1959. They had two sons, Steven Michael, deceased, and Stewart Colin (Kimberly) Nyhart. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

After graduating from Danville High School, he attended Wilmington College, and later joined the Navy, serving on the USS Neptune from 1956-58. After returning home from the service, he worked at Mansfield General Motors and in time, moved to the southwest where he farmed and raised cotton. After four and a half years he and his family moved back to Ohio and he began working in transportation and farming. He was also active with the Agricultural Museum and coaching Little League baseball. Following retirement from commercial transportation, he worked hauling livestock locally. He retired at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be held at the North Bend Church, 24458 Orange Hill Rd. Danville, at 10:00 a.m. Friday April 24. Pastor Patrick Bailey will be officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, where the Knox County Veterans Council Honor Guard will perform military rites.
