Mount Vernon - Grace K. Sturgeon, 89, passed away Tuesday July 27, 2010 at The Laurels.
She was born in Whitewood, VA on July 12, 1921 to William and Julia (Keene) Horne. She was married to Isaac T. Sturgeon on April 28, 1953. She enjoyed gardening, card playing, and babysitting for many Danville area families, but loved her grandchildren most of all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 9 siblings, and a son-in-law; John Myers.
Grace is survived by her children; Nancy Myers of Lexington, James (Patty) Sturgeon of Wooster, Vicki (Richard) Littleton of Howard, and Sharon (Ronald) Slone of Statesville, NC, grandchildren; Jeremy Littleton, Elizabeth Myers, Melissa Littleton, Matthew Sturgeon, and Shyanna, James, and Sarah Slone, and 3 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-8 P.M. on Thursday.
