Harris M. Shryock
COSHOCTON - Harris M. Shryock, 83, of Zero Street died August 17, 2008 in the emergency room of Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.
He was born January 1, 1925 in Coshocton to the late Melva Martin and Rachael Leona (Harris) Shryock.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Roscoe Village Foundation and a former employee of Steel Ceilings. He was a winter resident of Traveler's Rest, Dade City, Florida. He was a past president of Land of Lakes Chapter of Wally Byam Caravan Club International, Inc. Mr. Shryock was a former 4-H advisor and one of the founders of the Bowman Station 4-H Club. He enjoyed traveling in his airstream trailer; having traveled to Canada, all the Canadian Providences and all 50 United States except Hawaii. He was also a member of the Milfork Valley Grange.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (Johnston) Shryock, whom he married Feb. 10, 1946. Also surviving are two sons, Roger (Susan) Shryock of London, OH and Dane Shryock of Coshocton. A daughter, Faith Shryock Wells (fiancAC.e Tom Ridenbaugh) of Coshocton. Grandchildren, Darcie Shryock Gard and husband Jason of Heath, Diane Shryock MacDonald and husband Jimmy of Warsaw, Janna Wells Stanford and husband Jeffrey of Sunbury, Julie Wells Poretta and husband Michael of Westerville, and Robert Harris Wells of Fairbanks, Alaska. Great grandchildren, Taylor Lahna of Heath and Carson Stanford of Sunbury. Step great grandchildren Conner and Zachary MacDonald of Warsaw and Grant Gard of Heath.
He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Shryock.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Dan Loomis officiating. Burial will be in the Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Visitation is Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 5-8 P.M. and until service time on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
