Coshocton- Hazel Erma Finlay, 91, of 26660 CR 24, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at the Coshocton County Memorial Hospital Extended Care Facility.
She was born March 29, 1918 in Coshocton Co. to Clarence and Etta (Kaser) Patterson. She married Robert Finlay on, whom preceded her in death on April 18, 1960. She attended the Coshocton Nazarene Church, and was a loving mother, grandmother who enjoyed immensely the times she spent with her grandchildren, and cared for her young livestock.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean (John) Grove of Brookings, SD, two sons; Gerald (Judy) Finlay of Coshocton, and Edward (Carol) Finlay of Warsaw, grandchildren; Karla (Steve) Schmidt of Wisconsin, Alan (Elise) Grove of California, Teresa (Martin) Berrey of Wadsworth, Andrea (Steve) Finton of Coshocton, Marsha (David) Nash of New Albany, Scot Finlay of Coshocton, and Adrian (Heather) Finlay of Mansfield, fourteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and one sister.
A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 with Pastor Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery. Public visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14th at the funeral home.
