WARSAW- Helen Marie (Poland) Lanham, 82, of CR 18, died Sunday, February 20, 2011 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 6, 1928 in Massillon to the late Vernie and Mabel (James) Poland. She married Henry Lanham on Nov. 30, 1946, who preceded her in death on July 12, 1982. She liked flowers and gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by nine children; Barb (Joe) Chaney of Warsaw, Henry (Sharon) Lanham of Newark, Paul (Mary) Lanham of Dresden, Duane (Linda) Lanham of Deming, NM, Dave (Mary) Lanham of Warsaw, Steve Lanham of Columbus, Edna (Bernie) Gardner of Coshocton, Karen (Jim) Curry of Warsaw, and Darrel Lanham of Coshocton, 34 grandchildren, 80 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a brother, George Poland of Coshocton, and four sisters; Eleanor (Bob) James of Dresden, Donna Gephart of Coshocton, Clara Leson of Cleveland, and Shirley (Larry) Fry of Warsaw.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Jona Newell, 5 grandchildren, and ten siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Evangelist Ron Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6-8 on Wednesday and one hour prior to service time on Thursday.
