Danville- Helen L. (Wilson) Strouse, 82, of 205 E. Main St., died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at her residence.
She was born Dec. 24, 1926 in Peach Creek, WV to the late Roy C. and Grace (White) Wilson. She married Therman W. Strouse on Nov. 14, 1942, whom preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1995. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ, and she enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, and cooking for family.
She is survived by her children; Betty L. Durbin of Danville, Therman "Woody" (Sue) Strouse of Danville, Roy E. (Debe) Strouse of Mt. Vernon, Brenda S. (Dale) Davis of Warsaw, and Mitchell P. (Jennifer) Strouse of Danville, 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and three brothers; Troy B. Wilson of Loudonville, Ken "Mo" (Rose) Wilson of Bladensburg, and Zane (Shirley) Wilson of Heath.
In addition to her parents and her beloved husband of 52 years, Therman Strouse, she is also preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Brecheisen, a brother, Jack Wilson, and a very special niece, Sandy Rader.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Evangelist Matt McManaway officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, and until service time on Tuesday.
