Helene Witzmann

Helene Witzmann, 89, of Waverly. OH, passed away on March 5, 2014.

She was born on January 11, 1925 in Schmölz, Germany to the late Hans Murmann and Rosa (Scheler) Müller. Helene was a loving wife of 54 years to the late Guenter Witzmann. She was also a homemaker, mother to Bernhard (Pamela) Witzmann, Helga (James) Long, Frank (Angie) Witzmann, and grandmother to 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Throughout the years Helene was employed by The C.E. White Company in New Washington, OH, by Defiance College in Defiance, OH, worked as an Administrative Assistant for Grolier Books in Danbury, CT, and at the Kenyon University book store in Gambier, OH.

Helene was preceded in death by her sisters, Gertrud Murmann and Elisabeth Sabokath.

A sister, Doris Spenner and brother, Armand Murmann still survive.

Calling hours will be from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 15 at Bristol Village Glenn Center in Waverly, OH. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Street Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Rd. 135, Greenwood, IN. Helene will be laid to rest at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Danville, OH.
The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is assisting with the burial.
