Mount Vernon - Irene J. Williams, 82, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 19, 2016 with her loved ones by her side.
She was one of thirteen children born to Ed and Hilda (Gardner) Mickley on March 29, 1934 in Danville. Irene loved sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and the Buckeyes. She was an avid reader and kept up with friends and family. She approached life with passion, and loved others deeply.
Irene leaves behind her three children, Vicky Williams of Dublin, Rick Williams of Vero Beach, FL, and Max (Lael) Williams of Mount Vernon; step-children, Gary Shuff, and Mike (Kim) Williams of Mount Vernon, and Cindy (Dave) Johnson of Virginia Beach; her sister, Dorothy Colopy of Danville; her brother, Donnie Mickley of Florida; grandchildren, Zach (Angie) Williams, Ricky (Kelsey) Williams, Alex (Becky) Williams, Kayla Williams, Nick Williams, Brett Williams, Courtney Grimes, and Scott Williams; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Carter, Owen, Shilo, and Kaden; and her little dog, and fierce protector, Lucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gene Williams on January 28, 1992; her second husband, Elden Zell on January 20, 2004; her sisters, Mary L. Boeshart and Joyce Summers; and her brothers, John, Joe, Paul, Eddie, Bob, Jessie, Kenny, and Floyd Mickley.
Per Irene's wishes, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 21 in the St. Luke Cemetery in Danville. Father Homer Blubaugh will officiate. The Fischer Funeral Home is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
