Jack E. Darr

FRESNO- Jack Everett Darr, 83, of CR 10, died Sunday Feb. 5, 2012 at his home with his family by his side.

He was born Jan. 29, 1929 in Warsaw to the late Emory and Elma (Mencer) Darr. He served in the 24th Infantry Division, 5th Regimental Combat Team of the United States Army during the Korean War, and was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. He was a member of the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, was the former manager of 4-H Camp Ohio for thirteen years, a life-long carpenter and farmer, and he enjoyed raising and showing Belgian draft horses and singing in a barbershop chorus.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Cathrine (Blauser) Darr of Fresno, who he married Sept. 8, 1973. Also surviving are two children; Kristen (Bryan) Schoeff of Delaware, and Brian Darr of Fresno, and a grandson, Jackson Schoeff of Delaware.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Darr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, with Pastor Neal Dearyan officiating. Burial will follow in Canal Lewisville Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council. Calling hours will be held at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday Feb. 8th, and from Noon-2 p.m. prior to service time at the church on Thursday. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
