COSHOCTON- Jack W. McNeal, 76, of SR 621, died Thursday Aug. 2, 2012 at the Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Coshocton to the late Amby F. and Mary K. (Gamertsfelder) McNeal. He worked at Columbus & Southern (AEP) for 33 years. He was a heart transplant recipient in 1993. He coached youth softball, baseball and football for several years, and was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He was a devoted husband and father, and greatly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Keene United Methodist Church, Warsaw Masonic Lodge #255, and the McDonald's Coffee Club for many years.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 55 years, Barbara J. (Foster) McNeal of Coshocton, who he married Nov. 2, 1957. Also surviving is a son, Roger D. McNeal (fiancAC. Maxine Branstetter) of Warsaw, three daughters; Terri (Bob) Owen of Coshocton, and twin daughters Diane (Craig) Strohacker of Nashport and Deanne (Ernie) Beauchamp of Newark, eight grandchildren; Kayla McNeal (Dustin Ringwalt), Christopher McNeal, Bobby Owen (Falon Cleary), Ashley Owen (Rob Lowe), Austin & Nathan Strohacker, and Jeremy & Jacob Beauchamp, a great-granddaughter, Alexis Ringwalt, a sister, Norma Jean Arnold, five sisters-in-law; Janet (Dennis) Fender, Mary (Jim) Crouso, Irene McNichols, Frances Erman, and Alice Foster, two brothers-in-law, Harold (Brenda) Foster, and Louis (Ruth) Foster, and his beloved dog, "Billie".
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chase Strohacker, a brother, Harold D. McNeal, and four brothers-in-law; James Foster, Pat McNichols, Joe Erman, and Logan Arnold.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the FISCHER FUNERAL HOME in Warsaw with Pastor Harvey Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the Canal Lewisville Cemetery.
