COSHOCTON- James Marion "Dobby" Dobson, 71, of Hillsdale Dr., died Monday June 11, 2012 at the Coshocton Co. Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit.
He was born July 26, 1940 in West Bedford to the late Woodrow and Alice (Meek) Dobson. He retired from GE, and was a member of the Moose, Elk's, and Masonic Lodge. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf before back surgery limited his activities. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed historical literature as well as several favorite humorous authors.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Tina (Hoop) Dobson of Coshocton, who he married Feb. 21, 1960. Also surviving is a daughter, Denise Mallon of Castle Rock, CO, a granddaughter, Adrienne Epifano of Maui, HI, a brother-in-law, Richard (Laura) Hoop of Coshocton, two aunts; Wilma Meek & Eva Watkins of Coshocton, two uncles; Alvin (Joanne) Meek of Tennessee and French (Doris) Meek of Georgia, and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Scott Dobson, his grandparents; Eldon & Opal Meek, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. June 18, 2012 at the Roscoe United Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Granger officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
