James Richard Hauger

October 27, 1931 — July 18, 2012

HOWARD - James Richard Hauger, 80, of Howard died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born October 27, 1931 in Knox County to the late Cash and Helen (LeFever) Hauger.

He was employed at PPG and American National Can in Mount Vernon. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Gambier Fishing Club. He enjoyed Saturday night "Pizza Night" with his family, the Danville Fish Frys, and his trips to Wheeling.

He is survived by his children, Rich (Sandi) Hauger of Mount Vernon, Lou Ann Shultz of Danville, Tim Hauger (Donita Fausco) of Howard, and Amy (Larry) Chandler of Mount Vernon. His grandchildren, Cash & Cassandra Hauger, Ethan Shultz, and Max & Wes Chandler. And his granddog, Liza.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evalyn M. (Conkle) Hauger, who he married Sept. 23, 1956, she died June 3, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Chuck Shultz, and two sisters, Juanita Laymon and Vivian Butler.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Pastor Lee Cubie officiating.

The FISCHER FUNERAL HOME in DANVILLE is handling the arrangements.
