COSHOCTON- James "Hubert" Miller, 84, of Maple St., died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the residence of Jan & Jill Guilliams, where he had been receiving loving care from his wife, Reda, his family, and Hospice.
He was born April 4, 1926 in Coshocton to the late Russell R. and Mary M. (Perkins) Miller. He married Reda (Wolford) Miller on March 18, 2000, who survives. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the 20th Air Force Division in the South Pacific Theatre as a Sergeant Radio Mechanic. He started his career at Pretty Products as General Supervisor, leaving Coshocton and serving in various management positions. He was a member of the National Management Association. He retired as Office Manager the Public Utilities Department of Columbus. He was also a member of the Branch United Methodist Church, Coshocton Masonic Lodge #96, and a charter member of the Coshocton Elks B.P.O.E. #376. He was an avid Ohio State fan, and loved hunting and fishing. He raised beagle dogs, and was a beagle field trial judge. Jim was a great friend to all who knew him, and he will be fondly remembered.
He is survived by his wife, Reda, three sons; Randy (fiancAC. Bonnie), Mike (Connie), and Scott (Lisa), a daughter, Vivian (Chuck), a sister, Madeline M. Hess, his mother-in-law, Bonnie Wolford, three step-children; Jeff (fiancAC. Amanda) Lanham, Heather Patterson, and Jeanie (fiancAC. Troy) Barr, four grandchildren; Jackie, Donnie, Katie, and Danny, three great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, a special niece, Jill (Jan) Guilliams and her children, Jodi, Josh, and Jordyn, and his former wife, Carole Bible.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Victor E. Hess, a special nephew, David R. Hess, and his father-in-law, Ben Wolford.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Coralee Cox and Rev. Don R. Dolick officiating. Interment will follow in Branch Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council. Calling hours are from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1st at the funeral home.
