James L. Ringwalt

DANVILLE- James Lee Ringwalt, 78, of 27267 Flat Run Rd., died Thursday Oct. 4, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 22, 1933 in New Castle to the late Harry L. and Lizzie Seconva (Fisher) Ringwalt. He was a 1951 graduate of Warsaw High School, and served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956. He was employed by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. for 46 years until his retirement in 1995. He also spent many years farming, and had a great passion for "John Deere" tractors. He was a member of the Danville Church of Christ, the Bladensburg Ohio Lodge #199 of Free & Accepted Masons, Kinsman Council #76, Clinton Commandry #5 of the Knights Templar, Royal Arch Mason Clinton Chapter #26, Knox Co. Chapter of Ohio Eastern Star #236, Danville American Legion Post #650, and the Ohio LST/Amphibs Association.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay M. (Mizer) Ringwalt of Danville, whom he married June 2, 1957. Also surviving is a daughter, Diana (Jack) Blue of Danville, a son, Neil (Vikki) Ringwalt of Farwell, MI, seven grandchildren; Amber & Tyler RIngwalt, Michelle & Garrett Blue, and Olivia, Lauren, & Nathan Ringwalt, three great-grandchildren; Logan Tate, Marcus McGough, and Nathan Ringwalt, two brothers; Harry J. Ringwalt of Walhonding, and John E. (Colleen) Ringwalt of Warsaw, a sister, Charlene Stingel of Westerville, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry James Ringwalt, an infant daughter, two sisters; Geraldine Ashcraft, and Mary Louise Ringwalt, and an infant brother.

Calling hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday Oct. 5, 2012 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with a Masonic Service beginning at 6:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at the Danville Church of Christ, 15961 Danville-Jelloway Rd., Danville, OH 43014. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Knox Co. Joint Veterans Council. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
