Walhonding – James A. Uhl, 82, passed away on Thursday July 27, 2023 at The Laurels of Mt. Vernon.
He was born in Millersburg on January 15, 1941 to Luella (Anderson) and James Uhl. He married Josephine Shepherd, who preceded him in death along with daughters, Rebecca Lynn, Brenda Lee, and Tammy.
James is survived by his daughters, Patricia A. (Harry “Peewee”) Sturgeon of Danville, Debra K. (James) Ray of Claremore, OK, and Melissa (Eric) Allen of Nashport; son, Donald Uhl of Walhonding, many grandchildren; his sister, Margaret Martin, and brother Larry Uhl.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday August 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fischer Funeral Home, 403 High St. Danville. Pastor Ken Smailes will officiate. Burial will follow in Tiverton Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5-7:00 Monday evening.
