Born Jan 30, 1926 on the family farm in Coshocton, Ohio, James P. Waring died on Sunday Nov. 20, 2011. He was the first born son of James Oliver Waring and Hannah Wilamena Kreiger.
James graduated from Warsaw High School in 1944 where he played basketball and baseball. He was a sports enthusiast who loved all sports.
He served in the Army during WWII in the Philippines after which he was sent to the Japanese Occupation just after the bombing. He returned home to Ohio after serving our country where he worked the family farm and also for General Electric.
He moved to California in 1957 working with a newly started family business, Valley Enterprise Manufacturing, which made coin operated newspaper racks and equipment. By 1959 he was associated with the Los Angeles Herald Examiner and also the Daily Racing Form as an independent distributer in the San Fernando Valley where he met so many of his long time friends.
James was a member of the Warsaw 255 Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He was baptized and a member of the Mount Zion Methodist Church.
He was a generous person to those he met always living out the Golden Rule. He was well loved by many friends and acquaintances while being a man of great compassion and a good judge of character in others.
James was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, John Holsky, Wilbert Holsky, Ruth Holsky, and Louise Holsky Kemp. He is survived by his brother David and sister-in-law, Ellen Waring, of Puyallup WA, his devoted nephew and business partner Bill Kemp of Reston,VA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grave side services will be held at a later date at Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw, OH. Donations may be made to a local Hospice or your favorite charity. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is assisting with arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
