Danville - Janice (Staats) Billow Hauger, 78, died Wednesday January 16, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born December 16, 1934 in Loudonville to Richard and Evelyn (Mosher) Staats. Janice grew up in Knox, Ashland, and Licking Counties, and graduated from Hebron High School in 1953.
She was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church and The Ohio Eastern Star. Janice loved singing and was active in the church choir and had served as the choir director. She married Glen Hauger on Dec. 22, 1956 at the Danville Methodist Church Parsonage, with the Rev. John Graham officiating. Janice worked at Patented Products and retired after 32 years.
Janice was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, attending countless school and church activities supporting and cheering for her family. She was a devoted fan of Danville High School sports, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and especially "TBDBTL". She enjoyed playing shuffleboard, visiting Florida and walking on the beach.
She is survived by her sisters, Leona (Charles) Glass of Ashland, Barbara Wagers of Wooster, Kathy Boyle of Mansfield, and Chris Mulkey of Atlanta, Georgia, her brother in-law Joe Hauger of Mt Vernon, six children, Mike (Chris) Billow of Danville, Gina White of Fredericktown, Marsha Hauger of Mt Vernon, Anita Martin of Danville, Dwight Hauger of Danville, and Brenda Durbin of Dublin, grandchildren, Angela Baker, Vincent Billow, Jennifer Brecheisen, Bill White, Keith White, Julie Jones, Nicole Stelzer, Josh Martin, Alicia Byers, Joe Martin, and Grant Hauger, 22 great-grandchildren, her special friends from Hebron High School, and a special friend, Pam Thomas of Maumee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Larry Anderson, brother in-law Don Wagers, and sons in-law Jack White and Mike Martin.
Calling hours will be Saturday January 19, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Danville Methodist Church, where a memorial service will begin at 2:00. The Rev. Mary Murtha will officiate. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery in Danville.
