Jean Booth

Howard – W. Jean Booth, age 81, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026, surrounded by her family as she always loved to be.

She was born in Wood County, WV on August 17, 1945. She was one of seven children of the late Ralph and Nellie (Joy) Goudy. She married Richard L. Booth on November 7, 1964. The two of them attended the Eden Church of Christ for many years.

Jean dearly loved her children and grandchildren. From sewing nightgowns, PJs, and blankets for her kids, to delivering her great grandchild when the midwife didn’t make it in time, she did everything for them. And she would help anybody in need. She had a great sense of humor, loved playing cards, and was an avid bowler in her younger years.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, and a sister, Wanita Richards.

She is survived by her children, Brian (Barbie) Booth, Brenda (Keith) Buckingham, and Carrie (Tim) Hubbell all of Howard; six grandchildren, Kasey Buckingham, Trent (Lauren) Buckingham, Logan Buckingham, Ava Buckingham, Amber (Chris) Kemmer, and Kricket Willey; fifteen great grandchildren; and siblings, Johnny Goudy, Harvey Goudy (Ginny), Stanley Goudy (Marsha), Karen DeLong (Richard), and Margaret Harding.

A graveside service will take place in the Workman Cemetery on Saturday, September 5, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Dan Hamilton will officiate.
