KEENE- Wilma Jean (Kanuckle) Lawrence, 87, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by loving family on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Altercare of Coshocton.
She was born Sept. 1, 1938 in Coshocton to the late Wilbur Shepard and Cynthia Angelia (Shannon) Kanuckle. She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1956, and was married 66 years to the love of her life, Hugh Franklin “Skip” Lawrence, from Jan. 25, 1958 until his death on Sept. 15, 2024.
Jean loved gardening, playing Bingo and cards, and having a cup of coffee with her neighbors. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and collecting recipes. Most of all, her love for her family came before everything else.
She is survived by two children, Hugh (Michelle) Lawrence Jr. of Keene, and Cindy (Doug) Lawrence Masteller of Macedonia; granddaughters, Shelby (Josh) Schlupp, and Delaney Masteller; grandsons, Scott Masteller, Tommy Masteller, and Jesse (Kristin) Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Briar, Layla & KJ Lawrence, Owen, Mable & Maisley Schlupp, and Rowan Masteller; and a niece, Christine Sycks.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Homer Lawrence; a sister, Sara Raye Neace; and two nephews, Kelly & Ray Neace.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025 at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Sheila Kent officiating. Burial will follow in Keene Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. FischerFuneralHome.com
