Newcomerstown- Jean Lucille Harstine Tidball, 83, of 610 Maple St., died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009 at her residence.
She was born Jan. 30, 1926 in Clark Twp. Coshocton County to the late Harvey and Lillie (DeWitt) Bender. She married Arthur A. Harstine on June 27, 1943, whom preceded her in death on July 10, 1989. She later married Frank Tidball on Sept. 1, 1990, whom preceded her in death on March 9, 1999. She was an Avon Sales Representative for many years. She was an original member of Gospel Hill Ministry, and later attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Newcomerstown. She enjoyed working with flowers, crafts, and cooking, and she dearly loved the time she spent with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Couts of Newcomerstown, four sons; James (Janet) Harstine, Rodney (Connie) Harstine, Robert (Deanna) Harstine, and Joseph (Julia) Harstine all of Warsaw, step-children; Jim (Irene) Tidball of Plainfield, and Marvel Lewis of Colorado, grandchildren; Kurt (Emily) Harstine of Medina, Kendra (Craig) Bordenkircher of West Lafayette, Kristin Harstine of Warsaw, Chris (Shana) Harstine of Coshocton, Todd Harstine of Dundee, Ashley Harstine of Warsaw, Russell (Karri) Harstine of Coshocton, Rebecca (Rick) Wright of Coshocton, and adopted grandchildren Whitney and Eric Rose of Newcomerstown, step-grandchildren; Diane (Scott) Cecil of Colorado, and Debbie Lewis of Maryland, great-grandchildren; Tessa Harstine of New Philadelphia, Xander McCune and Brynn Harstine of Coshocton, step-great-grandchildren; Brayden Wright of Coshocton, and Katelyn Cecil of Colorado, a brother, Leo Bender of West Lafayette, a brother-in-law, Carl Harstine of California, a sister-in-law, Freda Cooper of Newcomerstown, a special neighbor, Codi Rothacher of Newcomerstown, and numerous friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins complete the family.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carolyn Harstine, a sister, Beatrice Swartz, and a son-in-law, Willard Couts.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2009 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20th.
