Warsaw - James E. "Mac" McFarland, 72, of Main St., died Monday, June 2, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Killbuck on June 2, 1942 to Lloyd and Ruth L. (Pigman) McFarland. He served in Vietnam with the Army Company E, 20th Airborne Infantry Unit, where he received a Purple Heart. On February 29, 1980, he married Nancy J. Hopkins. He was a member of the VFW Post 1330, and the Eagles Lodge 761. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, planting his garden, and going to "The Shack".
Jim is survived by his wife, Nancy McFarland of Warsaw, children; Ruth McFarland of Reynoldsburg, David McCormick of Warsaw, and Deanna McCormick of Warsaw, four grandchildren; Savannah (Good) Thompson, Novalea McCormick, Nick Good, and Alexia McCormick, a great granddaughter, Raelynn Thompson, brothers; Robert (Rosemary) McFarland of Warsaw, and George (Karol) McFarland of Zanesville, and a sister, Ruby (Larry) Groves of Conesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Milton and Donnie McFarland, and sisters; Ann Clark, and Betty McFarland.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with military rites by the Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard at 6:00. A cremation will follow.
