Joanna R. (Miller) Stephens

HOWARD- Joanna Ruth (Miller) Stephens, 89, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022 at her residence.

She was born April 11, 1933 in Baltic to the late Chester and Francis Lucille (Moore) Miller. She loved all animals. Her love for horses started at a young age. She also was also a supporter of wolf conservation. Joanna enjoyed her farm and her flowers, and being an Air Force wife. Her love for her family was endless.

Joanna is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Fred W. Stephens of Howard, whom she married May 29, 1953; her children, Diana (Jerry) Drake of Texas, Julie Kirk of Howard, Timothy (Vickie) Stephens of Howard; grandchildren, Eric (Carrie) Moreno, Nikki Moreno, Jerry (Kelly) Drake, Jr., Shannon (Chad) Frost, Crystal Harding, and Jason Kirk; several great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shannon; a brother, Jerry Miller; and a son-in-law, Thorney Kirk.
