COSHOCTON- Joanne Poorman, 81, a resident of Coshocton Health & Rehabilitation, died Monday, November 14, 2011 at the care center.
She was born Dec. 3, 1929 in Delaware to the late Enos and Emma (Gray) Decker. She worked at Edmonts in Coshocton until her retirement in 1985. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed bingo, bird watching, flowers, and nature. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a very loving and unselfish friend to many people, who all loved her and will remember her fondly.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Poorman of Coshocton, who she married Sept. 25, 1952. Also surviving are six children; Donnie Poorman of Newark, Robin Poorman of Cambridge, Sherry Murray of Coshocton, Debbie (James) Cable of Circleville, Chris (Chandra) Poorman of Coshocton, and Dave Poorman of Coshocton, eleven grandchildren; Amie Bibby, Lindsey & Christopher Murray, Julia Cable, Leslie Poorman, Cara & Brandon Harsh, Caleigh Poorman, Brittany Meek, and Clinton & Lavonda Morris, fifteen great-grandchildren, two brothers; Ted (Joy) Decker of Oregon, and Dave (Nancy) Decker of IL, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie Poorman, three brothers; Herb & Bob Lane, and Butch Decker, a sister, Doris Cooper, a half-brother, Bob Decker, and a half-sister, Irene Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw with Pastor Steve Young officiating, and cremation to follow. Visitation is two hours prior to service time at the funeral home. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
