John D. Grandstaff

ZANESVILLE- John Donald Grandstaff, 76, a resident of Willow Haven Nursing Home, formerly of Coshocton, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the nursing home.

He was born May 30, 1935 in Morgan Co. to the late Birtrum Irl and Myrtle (Gheen) Grandstaff. He married Alice Maxine (Wallace) Grandstaff on Jan. 21, 1974, who survives. He loved fishing, working on cars, and hunting for ginseng and mushrooms.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Maxine Grandstaff of Zanesville, five sons; John Gill of Illinois, Jason Gill of Decatur, IL, James Grandstaff of Zanesville, and Steven & Joseph Grandstaff, both of Coshocton, five daughters; Judy (Jeff) Cameron of Decatur, IL, Joyce Walker & Jennifer Gill of Illinois, and Janice (Gary) New & Jessica (Solomon) Sultan, both of Zanesville, seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two brothers; Charles Leo Grandstaff of Zanesville, and Leroy Grandstaff of Ridgeville, two sisters, Elda Tanner of Cannelsville, and Golda Dudley of Zanesville, and several nieces & nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters, and a granddaughter.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw. Cremation will take place after the service. Burial in Valley View Cemetery will follow at a later date.
