John L. Hershberger

       HOWARD- John L. Hershberger, 74, of 29240 Brush Run Rd. Howard, OH 43028, passed away at his residence on Aug. 23, 2026 after a short illness.

       He was born Sept. 21, 1951 in Wayne Co. to the late Levi P. and Anna A. (Miller) Hershberger. He married Ella A. Troyer on Oct. 5, 1972, who survives. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

       He is survived by his wife, Ella A. Hershberger of the home; their son, Andy (Betty) Hershberger of the home; three brothers, Roy (Kris) Hershberger of Wadsworth, Andy (Rachel) Hershberger of Wooster, and Jr. (Edna) Hershberger of Big Prairie; six sisters, Katie (Eli, dec.) Hershberger of Walhonding, Edna (John) Raber of Howard, Elizabeth (John, dec.) Troyer of Howard, Fannie (Daniel) Schlabach of Lakeville, Mary (Alvin, dec.) Troyer of Howard, and Anna (Jonas) Hershberger of Howard.

       In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.

       Funeral services will be held at the Hershberger residence, 29240 Brush Run Rd. Howard, OH 43028, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026. Bishop Paul Raber will officiate, and burial will follow in Troyer Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the home any time prior to services.
