       HOWARD- John A. Troyer, 69, of Howard, passed away at his home Sunday Jan. 11, 2026.

       He was born June 6, 1956 to the late Andrew D. and Clara J. (Yoder) Troyer. He married Elizabeth L. Hershberger May 31, 1977, who survives. He was a member of the old order Amish Church.

       Surviving are his six children, Alvin (Katie) Troyer of Big Prairie, Dan (Esther) Troyer of Gambier, Katie (Benny) Hershberger Walhonding, Ella (David) Hershberger of the home, Mary (Noah) Hershberger of Danville, and John Jr. (Esther) Troyer of Gambier; fifty-one grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Ella (John) Hershberger of Howard, Henry (Mattie) Troyer of Danville, Clara (Mosie) Hostetler of New York, and David (Fannie) Troyer of Hillsboro; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Katie Troyer, Edna Troyer, and Mary Troyer; and a step sister-in-law, Ada Hostetler of New York.

       He was preceded in death three brothers, Eli, Andy, and Alvin Troyer; and a sister, Mary (Dan) Hostetter.

       Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026 at the residence, 28827 New Castle Rd. Howard, OH 43028, with Bishop Paul Raber officiating. Burial will follow in Troyer Cemetery on Wharton Lane in Butler Twp. Friends and family may call at any time at the home.
