MT. VERNON- Joseph Aloysius Smith, 59, of Columbus Rd., died Tuesday Aug. 21, 2012 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 18, 1952 in Mt. Vernon to the late Virgil A. and Ann E. (Mattingly) Smith. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Newark, and the Knights of Columbus. He was also an avid Ohio State sports fan.
He is survived by three brothers; John (Sandy) Smith of Texas, Michael Smith of Marengo, and Steven Smith of Florida, four sisters; Theresa (William) Lamb of Cleveland, Cecilia Smith of Cleveland, Pat Smith of Florida, and Regina Mattingly of Colorado, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and numerous other extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday Aug. 31, 2012 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Father Victor Wesolowski officiating. Burial in St. Luke's Cemetery in Danville will follow at a later date. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
