WARSAW – Kimberly Jean (Shockley) Vogelgesang, 63, of Warsaw, died Monday, September 22, 2025 at the Genesis Morrison House Hospice.
She was born March 18, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio to Jack Arlen and Norma Jean (Culp) Shockley.
Kim was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, nurse, and friend to many. She had a profound calling for everything she did, and she poured her heart into every role she held. As a mother, Kim made it a priority to show up fully, ensuring that her family always felt loved and cherished. She extended that same warmth to everyone she met—never meeting a stranger, only friends who soon became family.
For 23 years, Kim faithfully served as a nurse, giving everything she had to care for her patients with the utmost compassion, respect, and dedication. She built meaningful connections with patients and their families, guided by an incredible intuition for knowing what people needed most. Kim was a tireless advocate, always standing up for others until the very end.
Outside of her work, Kim found joy in her flowers and plants, delighting in their beauty and colors. She also carried an extraordinary sense of humor that brightened every room she entered. Her laughter was contagious, and she had a gift for making those around her feel happiness and love.
Kim’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched—with kindness, strength, and laughter that will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Vogelgesang of Warsaw, whom she married Oct. 15, 1988. Also surviving is her father, Jack Shockley of Warsaw. Her children, Virginia “Ginnie” (Kevin) Galusha of Jackson, Bret (Devan) Vogelgesang of Jerusalem, and Emily Vogelgesang of Columbus. Grandchildren, Lamont, Eli, Aleah & Olivia Galusha and Arlen Bell. Siblings, Kristopher (Lisa) Shockley of Plain City, Karla (Peter) Shockley-McCarthy of Granville, Keith (Becca) Shockley of Croton, and Kaci (Scott) Yee of Columbus. Numerous nieces & nephews.
