K. Larry Watson

June 21, 1942 — November 19, 2024

Coshocton, OH

Kenneth Larry Watson of Coshocton, Ohio, entered into the presence of his Savior on November 19, 2024, at the age of 82, after a courageous battle with dementia.

Born on June 21, 1942, in Plainfield, Ohio, Larry was the son of William Max and Anita Mae Watson.

He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 62 years, Joyce Evaline (Norris) Watson; his loving children, Sherri (John) Smith, Kristine Ferris, and Keith (Christy) Watson; his cherished granddaughter, Elizabeth Lee Ferris; six step-grandchildren Sarah (Sam) Greenlee, Samuel (Haven) Vickers, William (Ashton) Vickers; two step-great granddaughters, Clara and Mabel Greenlee; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Cinda) Watson; and sister-in-law Carolee Norris Lawrentz.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lloyd Watson; brothers-in-law David Lawrentz and David Norris; and sisters-in-law Marianne Watson and Sue Norris.

Larry graduated from Roscoe High School in 1960. His dedication and work ethic were evident throughout his 30-year career at Coshocton National Bank (later Bank One) and as assistant manager at Sherwin-Williams Paint Stores in Coshocton and Newark, where he worked until his retirement in 2007. He also served his community faithfully as clerk of Jackson Township for 30 years.

Above all, Larry’s faith in the Lord was the foundation of his life. He served faithfully at Calvary Baptist Church as a trustee and Awana leader, where he invested in the spiritual growth of children and supported the church’s mission. In later years, Larry participated in online services with Fresno Bible Church and joined “Garage Talk” at Coshocton Nazarene Church, seeking to grow in his walk with Christ. Larry’s life was a testament to faithfulness—to God, his family, and his work. He was a man of quiet strength, steady devotion, and a deep sense of purpose, leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He found joy in attending his children’s and granddaughter’s music and sporting events, following NASCAR, and participating in his family’s beloved annual bowling tournament.

A private funeral service will be held at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, Ohio, on Friday, November 22, followed by burial at Coshocton Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to the Dementia Society of America.
