Gahanna, OH – Kyle J. Bratton, 68, was born August 16, 1954 in Lima and peacefully passed away on December 7, 2022.

After high school graduation, Kyle enlisted in the Air Force at 17 years old. He completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX in electronic counter measures, then served two tours in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam Conflict. After an honorable discharge he attended CTI, graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree. Kyle met his wife, Carmel Ann Carson, the love of his life, in the Chesapeake Bay area and they were married in 1983. She passed away in December of 1990. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian (Dangler) Bratton, and two nieces, Megan Bratton, and Larisa Renemans.

Kyle enjoyed learning and decided to attend Troy University where he received a Masters Degree in Political Science. He was also a graduate of “Air University War College” at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama as part of his future military education. His adventure continued. He was at Cherry Point and took a part on a team of engineers that designed missile systems for the Navy and Department of Defense. He was the Deputy Director for the 5th Fleet in Italy. His last assignment was the lead Avionics Engineer for the “Black Ops version CV22 Osprey”. He retired from the service in 2015.

Kyle was a generous, humble man with a beautiful smile. He enjoyed traveling, buying and fixing up houses, collecting antiques, and buying cars, especially old Mustangs. He had a love for his family, sports, his faith in God, his country, and many dogs over the years. He will be missed by so many family and friends. He was a wonderful son, husband, brother, and uncle.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers, Laura (Ed) Renemans of Casper, Wy, Charles R. (Linda) Bratton of Danville, Tom (Ellen) Bratton of Zeeland, Mi, Lorraine Bratton (John Henwood) of Danville, John (Jean) Bratton of Wellington, Ted (Lori) Bratton of Danville, Michael Bratton of Bowling Green, and Amy (Mohsen) Faghihi of Lewis Center; sisters-in-law, Jaime and Mary Jane, and many nieces and nephews and extended family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Luke Catholic Church, 307 N. Market St. Danville, OH 43014, at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 16. Father Homer Blubaugh will officiate. A viewing will take place 2 hours prior to the service. Interment, with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will take place at a later date.
