DANVILLE- Larry James Conner, 71, of Millersburg Rd., died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010 at his son's home after a long battle with brain cancer that he was diagnosed with in 2007.
He was born April 2, 1939 in Holmes Co. to the late Floyd B. and Claudia L. (Adams) Conner. He worked for MCI (Flxible) for over 33 years, until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the AmVets of Mt. Vernon, the American Legion of Loudonville, and he enjoyed gardening, baseball, football, and "tinkering".
He is survived by his children; Terri (Mark) Davenport of Toledo, Theresa (Perry) Board of Gilbert, AZ, and Larry Conner II (Lindsay) of Danville, his grandchildren; Austin, Caleb, Nathan, & Josh Davenport, Anna & Toby Board, and Zane Conner, three brothers; Denver (Louise) Conner and Lester "Bud" (Audrey) Conner of Millersburg, and Dean (Peggy) Conner of Columbus, the mother of his children he was married to for 19 years, Edna P. Conner of Millersburg, and his wife of the last two years, Mary (Long) Conner.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, 2010 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville with Minister Dave Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Workman Cemetery, with graveside military rites performed by the Knox Co. Joint Veterans Council. Calling hours are from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, and also one hour prior to service time on Monday.
