Danville - Larry B. Lyons, 63, of Plum St. died Friday June 10, 2011 at his residence.

He was born June 29, 1947 in Mount Vernon to the late Evelyn Mae (Byers) and Edwin Lyons. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was the owner of the former Buckeye Arco service station. He was also a member of the Danville School Board for many years, and of the Danville Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife; Sharon M. (Marshall) Lyons on July 26, 2010, and brothers; Lee and Lyle Lyons.

He is survived by a son; Steve (Kris) Lyons of Howard, a daughter; Darcy (Justin) Perry of Blacklick, grandchildren; Sidney, Owen, Sam, Olivia, and Drew, brothers; Lynn and Lanny Lyons of Danville, and a brother-in-law; Larry Marshall.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday June 13, 2011 at the Danville Church of Christ, 15961 Danville-Jelloway Rd. Matt McManaway will officiate. Burial, with military rites from the Knox County Joint Veterans Council, will follow in Workman Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4-6 on Sunday at the Fischer Funeral Home, 403 High St., in Danville.
